Fixing the Baie-Comeau Label

For the Baie-Comeau Label, I’ve just repeated the name several times on the same sheet that I’m cutting out after with an x-acto.

The way I proceed to have the label on the sculpture is quite simple. I first start by applying a coat of varnish on the basis. Then, I add some varnish on the back side of the label too. This is permitting me to fix the label on the surface of the basis.

After that, I’m adding more varnish on the top of the label to make sure it is covered properly. Only one layer is sufficient but it gives a better look with multiple coatings.

Note that it’s not all the basis that have the space required to display the label properly, so that factor is important for the choice of that rock. Likely, when possible, I’ll position the frontal side of the mouse where the flat part of the basis is facing.

Until next post, Rock ‘on
