Multiple Layer Varnish Coatings
On top of recovering the original “Low Tide Wet Look” colors of the rocks, the main reason for applying multiple layer varnish coatings is to give real stronger fix between parts of the sculpture.
I make sure to let dry around 3 hours between each application in order for the varnish to solidify well. Depending on the time I have, I may apply between ten and twelve coatings. The points of contacts between rocks are enlarging each time.
And, it gives a nice glossy finish! See the difference:
