Sorting out by shape is a must
When I’m just coming back from the beach with my fresh collection, I often sort right away the rocks out by their shape. I mean by that: by body parts, more precisely.
Since I know the shapes I need to keep, I kind of eliminate all the rocks that don’t correspond with my criterias (see Technical Side for more on the body composition).

Same for the basis, but they’re easier to sort because I use fragment of rocks and are not looking alike.
